Divorce Financial Planning in Charlotte, NC

Before You Agree to Anything, Understand What the Numbers Mean

Divorce decisions often begin with legal strategy. My work begins with your financial reality.

For many women in Charlotte, divorce involves more than dividing accounts. There may be a home, retirement assets, stock compensation, business interests, support considerations, debt, taxes, and a lifestyle built over many years.

The question is not simply:

What am I entitled to receive?

It is:

What will each decision mean for my financial life after divorce?

Financial Clarity Before Decisions Become Final

I am Jessica M. Garcia, MBA, CDFA®. I work with women who want to understand the financial implications of divorce before important decisions are made.

I am not an attorney, and I do not sell financial products or manage investments. My role is to help you understand the financial picture, evaluate possible outcomes, and prepare for more informed conversations with your attorney, spouse, or mediator.

Together, we may explore questions such as:

  • Can I realistically afford to keep the home?
  • How would different settlement options affect my monthly cash flow?
  • What happens to retirement accounts, pensions, investments, or stock compensation?
  • How should I think about support and future living expenses?
  • What financial information may still be missing?
  • What are the tax considerations associated with different options?
  • Does a proposed settlement work financially—or does it simply resolve the case?

We may organize the financial picture, review documents, model scenarios, compare alternatives, and identify the tradeoffs that deserve closer attention.

A More Thoughtful Way to Approach Divorce

Your divorce settlement is not simply a legal agreement.

The decisions made during the process may shape your housing, cash flow, retirement, savings, and financial flexibility for years to come.

My clients are often accomplished women balancing careers, businesses, families, and other responsibilities while also trying to make significant financial decisions.

They are not looking to spend months trying to understand the numbers in between everything else competing for their attention.

They want focused time, thoughtful analysis, and a clearer understanding of the decisions in front of them.

Most Private Clients Begin With Momentum

Momentum | Private Divorce Financial Strategy

Momentum is a concentrated financial planning engagement designed to give your divorce finances the focused attention they deserve.

Before we meet, I review the financial information and documents you provide so our time together can be spent working through the questions, financial tradeoffs, and decisions in front of you.

Momentum includes advance document review and financial analysis, a private strategy and preparation call, four hours of focused financial strategy, and additional follow-up analysis based on what arises during our work.

In Charlotte

Momentum may be completed as a private Charlotte day with two focused two-hour sessions separated by approximately one hour for lunch and a mental reset.

You step away from the rest of your responsibilities for a few hours and give these decisions your full attention.

I come prepared.

We use the time to work on the decisions.

Or Virtually

Momentum is also available virtually throughout the United States, typically as two focused two-hour sessions completed within the same week.

Investment: $5000

When Additional Support Is Needed

Some women complete Momentum and have what they need to continue through their divorce with greater clarity. Others need additional financial analysis as their circumstances develop. Divorce Financial Consulting is available after Momentum at $350 per hour, with a retainer, for work such as settlement analysis, financial modeling, attorney collaboration, review of new information, or other financial questions that develop during the case.

Begin with a Private Consultation

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

A private consultation offers an opportunity to discuss where you are, the financial concerns weighing on you, and the type of support that may be appropriate for your situation.
